Terms and Conditions

COURSE BOOKING:

  1. The course booked is for the date and time agreed on initial booking and as confirmed in writing by Bristol and Bath Intensive Courses (the company). It may be cancelled within 14 working days from the date of this confirmation by email to the administration team at admin@bristolandbathintensivecourses.com. In any event, this notice must arrive before the course start date. Emails may only be received during office hours which are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. If booking a course due to commence within 14 working days (e.g., a short notice booking), Bristol and Bath Intensive Courses must have your agreement to commence the booking as this will mean your normal 14 working day cancellation right will apply.

1A. After the period in 1 (above), you cannot move or cancel the course without full loss of fee, except where 20 working days’ notice is given in writing to the company.

1B. If a pupil requests to change the date of their course after the 14 working day cancellation period has ended, and the company is unable to accommodate the requested change (for example, due to instructor availability), the original course booking remains in place. If the pupil chooses not to attend the original course dates, this will be treated as a cancellation without sufficient notice, and the full course fee will be retained.

1C. In rare cases, Bristol and Bath Intensive Courses may need to amend the date of a confirmed course due to operational reasons, such as instructor illness, vehicle issues, or scheduling conflicts. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer an alternative date. Where no suitable alternative can be arranged, any refund or credit offered will be at the company’s discretion. Bristol and Bath Intensive Courses will not be liable for any associated costs or losses arising from a date change.

DELIVERY:

A Bristol and Bath Intensive Courses 5-day course is over five consecutive days. A 7-day course is initially over 5 days with the remaining 2 days held back until a later date as confirmed by the booking team. All other courses will be held over consecutive days as specified by the booking team. Course times vary and will be communicated to you by your allocated driving instructor prior to the course commencement date.

Each course includes one-to-one car tuition with a DVSA Driving Instructor. The course will start and finish at a convenient location, typically your home address. Each day consists of 4 hours of one-to-one in-car training.

If the pupil finishes the course early, arrives late, or misses any days, no refund or additional hours will be given. Bristol and Bath Intensive Courses may use or substitute any DVSA Driving Instructor and/or vehicle. The pupil confirms they are licensed to drive and can read a number plate at 20.5 metres. The company is liable only in cases of negligence regarding vehicle safety and maintenance.

Instructor Schedule Adjustments:
Course start and end times may vary slightly depending on instructor availability and scheduling. Instructors may also adjust the daily structure of the course (e.g., by splitting sessions or slightly extending/shortening certain days) to best fit their diary while still delivering the agreed total training hours. These adjustments do not affect the overall course value or duration and are not grounds for refund or rescheduling.

TRAINING:

Practical training is delivered by DVSA Driving Instructors following Government guidelines. Courses aim to provide grounding in all topics of the official syllabus and help the pupil reach test standard. However, passing is not guaranteed and depends on the pupil’s ability. The standard required is level 5 (independent) per the DVSA Driver’s Record. If not achieved, further lessons or private practice will be necessary. Bristol and Bath Intensive Courses is not responsible for any additional lessons arranged privately between pupil and instructor.

THEORY TEST:

Bristol and Bath Intensive Courses will supply an official Theory Test if requested. You must bring your UK Provisional Driving Licence photo card when attending the test.

CANCELLATION FEE POLICY:

A cancellation fee applies to cover administrative work and course preparation already undertaken. This fee is equal to 10% of the course price or  99, whichever is greater. In the case of genuine emergencies, we may reduce or waive this fee at our discretion, or apply it as credit towards future services.

FREE THEORY RE-TRAINING:

Retraining is free and provided online via our theory test app. These resources are available for unlimited use until you pass your theory test.

DRIVING TEST:

A driving test is not included unless specified, and can only be booked once a valid theory pass is obtained. If requested, we can assist in booking your test after your course.

DVSA test centres do not provide a car. Candidates may arrange to use the school car. We aim to provide the same vehicle used in training. If the test is cancelled by the DVSA with less than 3 working days’ notice, car use may be affected.

We reserve the right to refuse the use of the vehicle if it poses a safety risk. Where possible, we will inform the pupil in advance so they can make alternative arrangements.

FORCE MAJEURE:

We offer driver and theory training but do not control test availability or conduct. Test centre closures or other external issues may affect bookings, which are outside our control.

MENTORING RETEST PROGRAMME:

If a pupil fails the test, they may enrol in the mentoring programme by submitting their DL25 form within 7 days. We provide free help targeting the serious/dangerous faults identified. This continues until the pupil is ready to reapply or the instructor is satisfied with progress. Attendance of the full course is required for eligibility.

OFFERS:

Occasionally we may run special offers. Terms and conditions of these will be published on our website.

DATA PROTECTION:

We use the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) business booking service to book your tests. Our GDPR policy is available at https://www.bristolandbathintensivecourses.com/privacy-policy/

COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE:

For complaints, please call our head office on 01225 434538 during office hours. We aim to deal with complaints immediately, so it’s important to notify us while you are still on the course. Complaints made after leaving are harder to investigate. We’re happy to speak with parents or third parties about your course progress, but only with your written consent. These terms do not limit our liability for negligence or affect your statutory rights. Some calls may be recorded for training purposes.
