Terms and Conditions

1. Course Booking

The course booked is for the date and time agreed upon during initial booking and confirmed in writing by Bristol and Bath Intensive Courses (“the Company”).
You may cancel within 14 working days from the date of this confirmation by emailing the administration team at admin@bristolandbathintensivecourses.com.
This notice must be received before the course start date.
Emails are only deemed received during office hours (Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm).

If you book a course scheduled to commence within 14 working days, we require your express agreement to begin the service immediately.
By doing so, you acknowledge that your 14-day statutory cancellation right will no longer apply once the course has started.

1A. Course Changes and Cancellations After Cooling-Off Period

After the 14 working day statutory cooling-off period, no refunds are available unless you provide at least 20 working days’ notice before the course start date.
If 20 working days’ notice is given, a cancellation fee (equal to 10% of the course price or £99, whichever is greater) will apply.

Cancellations with less than 20 working days’ notice result in full loss of the course fee.

1B. Change Requests

If you request a change of course date after the cooling-off period and the Company cannot accommodate the change (e.g., due to instructor availability), the original booking remains in place.
If you then choose not to attend, this will be treated as a cancellation without sufficient notice, and the full course fee will be retained.

1C. Amendments by the Company

In rare cases, the Company may need to amend a confirmed course date due to operational reasons such as instructor illness, vehicle issues, or scheduling conflicts.
We will notify you as soon as possible and offer an alternative date.
Where no suitable alternative can be arranged, any refund or credit offered will be at the Company’s discretion.
We are not liable for associated costs or losses arising from a date change.

2. Delivery

  • A 5-day course is delivered over five consecutive days.
  • A 7-day course is initially delivered over five days, with the remaining two days held back until a later date as confirmed by the booking team.
  • Other courses will run over consecutive days as advised.

Each day consists of 4 hours of one-to-one in-car training, totalling 20 hours for a 5-day course, unless otherwise specified.

Training typically starts and finishes at a convenient location, such as your home address.

If you finish the course early, arrive late, or miss any days, no refund or additional hours will be provided.

We may substitute a DVSA Driving Instructor or training vehicle if necessary.
You must hold a valid provisional licence and be able to read a number plate at 20.5 metres.

The Company is only liable in cases of negligence regarding vehicle safety and maintenance.

2A. Instructor Schedule Adjustments

Start and end times may vary slightly depending on instructor schedules.
Instructors may adjust the daily structure (e.g., splitting sessions or slightly extending/shortening certain days) to best fit their diaries while still delivering the agreed total training hours.
These adjustments do not affect the course value or duration and are not grounds for refund or rescheduling.

3. Training

Practical training is delivered by DVSA Driving Instructors, following official government guidelines.

Courses are designed to cover all topics in the DVSA syllabus and help the pupil reach test standard.
However, passing is not guaranteed and depends on the pupil’s ability.

The required standard is Level 5 (independent) according to the DVSA Driver’s Record.

Further lessons or private practice may be necessary if the pupil does not reach test standard.
The Company is not responsible for any additional lessons arranged privately between pupil and instructor.

4. Theory Test

We can provide an official Theory Test booking if requested.
You must bring your UK Provisional Driving Licence photo card when attending.

5. Driving Test

A driving test is not included unless specifically stated.

We can assist with booking a driving test after you obtain a valid theory test pass.

DVSA Test Centres do not provide a car for the test.
Candidates may arrange to use the school car (subject to instructor availability).

If a DVSA test is cancelled with less than three working days’ notice, car use for your rearranged test may be affected.

We reserve the right to refuse the use of the school vehicle if it poses a safety risk.
We will notify you in advance where possible.

6. Cancellation Fee Policy

If a cancellation is permitted (in line with our Terms), a cancellation fee applies to cover administrative work and course preparation already undertaken.
This fee is equal to 10% of the course price or £99, whichever is greater.

In genuine emergencies, we may reduce or waive this fee, or apply it as credit towards future services, at our discretion.

7. Free Theory Retraining

Free online theory retraining is available through our theory test app.
Resources are provided for unlimited use until you pass your theory test.

8. Force Majeure

We offer driver and theory training services but do not control DVSA test availability, test centre closures, or other external events.

Such issues are outside of our control, and we cannot accept responsibility or offer refunds in these circumstances.

9. Mentoring Retest Programme

If a pupil fails the driving test, they may enrol in our free mentoring programme by submitting their DL25 form within 7 days.

We provide targeted help focusing on the serious/dangerous faults identified.

This support continues until you are ready to reapply, or until your instructor is satisfied with your progress.

Attendance of the full original course is required for eligibility.

10. Offers

Occasionally we may run special offers.
Full terms and conditions of these offers will be published on our website.

11. Data Protection

We use the DVSA Business Booking Service to book tests.
Our GDPR policy is available at https://www.bristolandbathintensivecourses.com/privacy-policy/.

12. Complaints Procedure

If you have a complaint, please call our head office at 01225 434538 during office hours.

It’s important to raise any issues while still on the course, as complaints made after leaving may be more difficult to investigate fully.

We are happy to speak to parents or third parties about your course progress but only with your written consent.

These terms do not limit our liability for negligence or affect your statutory rights.
Some calls may be recorded for training purposes.

13. Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
